GU Zhengkun (辜正坤) is a Professor in the Institute of World Literature at Peking University. His research interests include Shakespeare studies, translation studies, comparative cultural studies and poetry studies. He is a distinguished expert recognized by the State Council of China. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the Shakespeare Studies Association of China, a standing council member of the Chinese Culture Promotion Society, and a council member of the China Translators’ Association. He has published many research articles and translated works in both Chinese and English.
