Dr. Liang Ying (梁颖). With a PhD degree in Translation and Interpreting Studies, Liang Ying is a lecturer at STS, XISU and category I free-lance interpreter at UNOG. After completing the Conference Interpreting Training Course offered by DG Interpretation at the European Commission in 2007, she has worked as a conference interpreter for UNOG, European Parliament, IMF, OHCHR, IFAD, National People’s Congress, and many other institutions. Dr. Liang co-authored Consecutive Interpreting-A Hands-on Textbook published by SFLEP in 2015 and has (co-)directed several research projects on translation and interpreting. The courses she has been offering to MTI students include Consecutive Interpreting, Simultaneous Interpreting, Interpreting for International Business Negotiations, Interpreting for Foreign Affairs, and Interpreting: Theories and Practice.
