Du Yi (杜一) is a lecturer in business translation in the School of Translational Studies at Xi’an International Studies University. He has been teaching undergraduate courses in business discourse analysis and translation since 2008. In 2013, he was sent on secondment to the Ministry of Education. As an education programme officer, he was actively involved in document drafting, translation and event organization of the Education Negotiation of China-Australia Free Trade Agreement 2015, China-Australia and China-New Zealand agreements on Higher Education Qualifications Recognition, and China-Canada Third High-Level Consultation on Education Collaboration. As a scholar of China Scholarship Council, he earned an MA in applied linguistics from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2012. In 2005, he was granted an MSc in international marketing management from the Robert Gordon University in UK. In 2008, his courseware on balance sheet translation won the MoE’s National Award for Courseware Design.
